'The Green Inferno' is NOT a Disneynature Documentary

Yesterday, Megan over at Megoblog told me about the trailer for Eli Roth's The Green Inferno, and this morning, I got a chance to check it out.  I'm all about a horror flick, but this legitimately concerned me about the people involved in it.

A girl tells her father early in the trailer that she thinks she needs to be doing something about the rain forests in Peru.  She alone can make a difference!  Are hipsters lining up to do this somewhere?  Her father advises against it, but she gets a bunch of her hippie friends together and heads out to Peru (so easy!) while fucking "Beautiful Dreamer" plays in the fucking background!  Honestly, I was more excited to see that Richard Burgi (aka Teri Hatcher's philandering first husband on Desperate Housewives) was getting work.

These do-gooders should know better, because their small plane crashes and they are kidnapped by an evil tribe.  Guess they aren't going to get their new pairs of TOMS when they get back this weekend.  Of course the director of Hostel is going to have these people torture the students.  Green Inferno features actual indigenous people, and the trailer actually boasts about it at the end.

Does anyone else feel weird about this?  Is this exploitative?  How did Roth convince these people to come out for a casting call for something like this?  I'm concerned...
