'Gone' Got Its Girl?

I already know I am becoming obsessed with David Fincher's adaptation of Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl.  Casting rumors have been swirling around for a few days as to who is going to play Nick and Amy Dunne.  Ben Affleck is rumored to be very interested, and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, we may have found our Amy in Rosamund Pike.

According to the article (which you can read here), Pike has come out as the main contender for the role of Amy.  People have speculated that popular actresses like Jessica Chastain (my personal pick) or Emily Blunt to star, but it appears Pike might be Fincher's choice.  Remember when every young actress was clambering to be Lisbeth Salander in Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

You have probably seen Pike before.  She starred alongside Keira Knightley in Pride & Prejudice as Elizabeth's younger sister Jane and most recently with Tom Cruise in last winter's Jack Reacher.  She was great in An Education as Dominic Cooper's glamorous, flighty galpal.  I always thought she deserved better mentions for her performance in that.

Pike has starred in a slew of movies.  You've seen her, but you may not realize it.  If she lands the role, this could be a huge break in her career.  She's absolutely gorgeous, and I bet she would deliver one hell of a performance.
