Google is celebrating costume designer Edith Head's birthday today. Head, the most celebrated costumer of all time, would have been 116 today. And you bet that she would have looked fabulous to this day. Normally, I go through an actor's career and add pictures of highlights just to remind us of his or her work. Head's career was so expansive that that would be next to impossible. She dressed everyone--Bette Davis, Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly. Instead I included some shots of the most iconic careers in Hollywood history.
I LOVE how many professional pictures were taken of Head with her Oscars. She was nominated a staggering 35 times. Between 1949 and 1967, she was nominated every year. Sometimes twice.
